Calendars

A calendar is a world-widely used system of organizing days for religious, commercial, administrative or social purposes. It can be done by giving names to periods of time (usually days, weeks, years and months). Any date is simply the designation of some specific day within such system.

A calendar can be also determined as a physical record of the mentioned system. Any calendar can also mean a list of planned events. There may be a so-called “court calendar” or other types of calendar.

All the periods in a calendar are usually synchronized with the cycle of either the moon or the sun. The most common type of the pre-modern calendar was the so-called “lunisolar” one. That was a lunar calendar that from time to time adds one intercalary month for remaining synchronized with the solar year over the long term.

The term “calendar” itself is taken from the word “calendae”. The last-mentioned term can be related to the first day of the month in the Roman calendar. Creating a calendar can be very easy as long as the ConceptDraw DIAGRAM diagramming and drawing software is downloaded, installed and running.

Having the Calendars solution that extends ConceptDraw DIAGRAM with the pre-made templates and samples of the calendars as well as a stencil library of vector shapes that can be used while the process of drawing, any ConceptDraw DIAGRAM user can make their own business calendars that help to plan and manage time, issues, events, appointments and tasks.
