Business Process Model and Notation

Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is a standard set of graphical notations used for modeling the business processes in the form of Business Process Diagrams and for specifying the business processes in a workflow. These notations are simple and understandable for all business users and technical specialists, such as business analysts that create, analyze and improve the processes, technical developers responsible for realization processes, managers that monitor processes and manage them, and even for non-technical observers. The BPMN diagrams help the business users timely uncover problems and effectively eliminate them, increase performance, quality, incomes and reduce costs. Standard BPMN graphical elements include the circles of different kinds for representing events, rounded rectangles — for activities, diamonds — for gateways, different arrows allowing represent the flows, and many other symbols.

The Business Process Model and Notation Solution extends ConceptDraw DIAGRAM software with templates, samples, and numerous libraries of predesigned notation symbols based on the BPMN 2.0 standard to help you easy model the business processes of any degree of complexity, document them and display using the diagrams.

There are 8 stencil libraries containing 143 vector objects in the Business Process Model and Notation solution.

Examples

There are a few samples that you see on this page which were created in the ConceptDraw DIAGRAM application by using the Business Process Model and Notation solution. Some of the solution's capabilities as well as the professional results which you can achieve are all demonstrated here on this page.

All source documents are vector graphic documents which are always available for modifying, reviewing and/or converting to many different formats, such as MS PowerPoint, PDF file, MS Visio, and many other graphic ones from the ConceptDraw Solution Park or ConceptDraw STORE. The Business Process Model and Notation solution is available to all ConceptDraw DIAGRAM users to get installed and used while working in the ConceptDraw DIAGRAM diagramming and drawing software.

Example 1: A Process with Normal Flow

This diagram was created in ConceptDraw DIAGRAM using the combination of libraries from the Business Process Model and Notation solution. An experienced user spent 5 minutes creating this sample.

This sample shows a Business Process Model and Notation diagram for the process with a normal flow. ConceptDraw DIAGRAM offers all needed tools for designing equally easy the complex BPMN diagrams and simple diagrams, as this one.
