A four level pyramid model of different types of Information Systems based on the different levels of hierarchy in an organization. The first level represents transaction processing systems for workers. The second level represents management information systems for middle managers. The third level represents decision support systems for senior menegers. The fourth level represents executive information systems for executives.
"The "classic" view of Information systems found in the textbooks in the 1980s was of a pyramid of systems that reflected the hierarchy of the organization, usually transaction processing systems at the bottom of the pyramid, followed by management information systems, decision support systems, and ending with executive information systems at the top. Although the pyramid model remains useful, since it was first formulated a number of new technologies have been developed and new categories of information systems have emerged, some of which no longer fit easily into the original pyramid model.
Some examples of such systems are:
data warehouses,
enterprise resource planning,
enterprise systems,
expert systems,
search engines,
geographic information system,
global information system,
office automation." [Information systems. Wikipedia]

Basic Flowchart Symbols and Meaning
Flowchart Symbols and Meaning - Provides a visual representation of basic flowchart symbols and their proposed use in professional workflow diagram, standard process flow diagram and communicating the structure of a well-developed web site, as well as their correlation in developing on-line instructional projects. See flowchart's symbols by specifics of process flow diagram symbols and workflow diagram symbols.Process Flowchart
ConceptDraw is Professional business process mapping software for making process flow diagram, workflow diagram, general flowcharts and technical illustrations for business documents. It is includes rich examples, templates, process flowchart symbols. ConceptDraw flowchart maker allows you to easier create a process flowchart. Use a variety of drawing tools, smart connectors, flowchart symbols and shape libraries to create flowcharts of complex processes, process flow diagrams, procedures and information exchange.Cross-Functional Flowchart
Cross-Functional Flowchart - to draw cross functional process maps is by starting with a cross-functional flowchart samples and templates. Easy to draw sample cross functional Process Flow Diagrams. Using a Cross-Functional flowchart is a clear way of showing each team member’s responsibilities and how processes get shared or transferred between different teams and departments.Use cross-functional flowcharts to show the relationship between a business process and the functional units (such as departments) responsible for that process. To create it use the best flowchart maker of ConceptDraw PRO.
Network Visualization with ConceptDraw PRO
ConceptDraw makes the entire process of network visualization easier thanks to the numerous ready-to-use objects included in the package for presentation of network equipment, LDAP directory symbols and many other objects that symbolize resources in most various representations.Data Flow Diagram
Data flow diagram (DFD) is the part of the SSADM method (Structured Systems Analysis and Design Methodology), intended for analysis and information systems projection. Data flow diagrams are intended for graphical representation of data flows in the information system and for analysis of data processing during the structural projection. Data flow diagram often used in connection with human process and can be displayed as workflow diagram. The critical Process Flow Diagram is another flowchart technique for designing data flow in connection with organizational processes. The critical Process flow diagram may use different range of symbols than a classic workflow diagram.Value Stream & Process Flow Diagramming Software
Value Stream & Process Flow Diagramming Software is a very popular Lean Manufacturing tool that allows to see and visualize in details the company's processes and current state, the flow of material and information, and thus gives the possibility to analyze the efficiency of company's processes and then develop improved processes. Value stream maps are also a good way to define the steps that do not add value to the end product, in other words waste in a company's processes. How to Draw a Flowchart
Are you confused on how to draw a flow chart? Here are some guidelines which can be used to ease the process of understanding the system and its flow.Although there are many symbols that can be used in flowcharts to represent different kinds of steps, accurate flowcharts can be created using very few (e.g. Process, Decision, Start, delay, cloud).
Audit Flowcharts
Audit flowcharts solution extends ConceptDraw PRO software with templates, samples and library of vector stencils for drawing the audit and fiscal flow charts.
Flowcharting Software
Creating a flowchart that is known to be a type of diagram that represents some algorithm, some process or some workflow may be a challenge for those who never had any experience in doing it before. Having such useful tool as the ConceptDraw PRO diagramming and drawing software it is possible, but once there is an opportunity to use a relatively new Flowcharts solution from the ConceptDraw STORE application, then it would worth to take it.Activity Network (PERT) Chart
Activity Network and Project Evaluation and Review Technique, or PERT, charts are a way of documenting and analyzing the tasks in a project. This diagram is constructed as part of the process in creating a schedule of corrective actions. The Activity Network Chart (PERT) shows the logical connections and consequence of tasks to be performed. It displays the time period for problem solving and the implementation of all activities through the critical path.
