How to Create an Influence Diagram

This lesson is about the influence diagram —a project diagram of a certain type, used by the project team to analyze all the factors involved in the decision-making process and how they influence the desired project results.

For example, lets, create is an EVSI (Expected Value of Sampling Information) Influence Diagram. It is used as a graphical tool for preliminary analysis, enabling the project manager to determine how much the increase in data sampling can improve decision-making outcomes.

1. Run ConceptDraw DIAGRAM.
2. Find the Project Diagrams item in the Solutions panel.
3. Click the library preview to open it in the Library panel.
4. Add objects to the diagram by dragging them from the Work Flow Diagram library to the document page.

5. Add a description to objects — just select an object and start typing. Use the text format tools to change its appearance in a way you need.

6. Next, connect the objects. To do this, simply select the object and connect to the desired one using the shape control button .

7. Format objects and connectors using the tools provided in the Format panel.
