Kanban Board Tool for Project Managers and Developers

A Kanban board is a visual tool that is quite popular in agile project management practices. Kanban board is designed to help project managers and developers visualize tasks and workflows, as well as reveal potential bottlenecks at any stage of the project life cycle. Kanban board visually depicts a project workflow to help teams assign and complete tasks properly.

Teams practicing the agile approach in project management and Kanban methodology use flip boards, markers, and stickers to depict project status, workflow, and task assignments. Using the ConceptDraw Kanban Board solution you can create Kanban board structured mind maps in ConceptDraw MINDMAP and then, automatically generate Kanban board chart in DIAGRAM.

1. Run ConceptDraw MINDMAP.
2. Sketch a Kanban board structure for your project in an arbitrary mind map view.

3. Use the “Kanban” arrangement tool available in the Arrange panel. This step is optional. You can apply it to make the mind map structure similar to a Kanban board.

4. Reveal the Kanban Board item in the Solutions panel.
5. Click the Topic Type section — the possibility to assign the Kanban board topic types to become available.

6. Select the mind map topics and assign them the topic types "Kanban board", "Kanban stage", "Kanban substage", or "Kanban card" using the Topic Type panel. You can assign resources to "Kanban cards" by adding subtopics and assigning them the "Kanban resource" Topic Type.
7. You can group Kanban cards using Boundaries.

8. Select the Export option in the Kanban Board item in the Solutions panel and click the Generate button.

Result: The virtual Kanban board will be generated and opened in ConceptDraw DIAGRAM.
