How to Use the PDF Exchange Solution

PDF Exchange solution for ConceptDraw Solution Park extends ConceptDraw MINDMAP software with the ability to quickly create the framework for a future article or book in the format of a Mind Map using mindmapping tools. Fill the structure with ideas, texts, and images, and then use it to create PDF document — create book in PDF format or the book's cover in PDF with just a simple click of the mouse.

1. Open your mind map:
2. Click the Solutions button .
3. A Solutions panel will appear - find here the PDF Exchange item.

4. First, use the Topic Types section. By assigning mind map topics the proper types, you will get them in the right places when exporting your mind map to a PDF book.

5. Next, open the Export section, select the type of export.

6. Click the "Generate" button to convert the active page of your mind map into a book in PDF format according to the following rules:

• Topics of "Book" and "Author" types are included in the book cover. The cover color inherits the fill color of the "Book" topic;
• Topics of "Chapter" type are converted to chapter and subchapter headings. The table of contents is generated from them automatically;
• Topics of "Idea" type fill the inner pages. The background color of the pages matches the background color of the mind map;
• Text Notes go into the text;
• Callouts are converted to footnotes;
• Hyperlinks are collected into a list of resources on the last page of the book.

Result: The book contents and list of resources are generated automatically. The colors and fonts are inherited from a Mind Map, and the images embedded in the topics are also included in the book, as well as the information from hyperlinks, and callouts.
