How to Create a SysML Diagram

Systems Modeling Language (SysML) is to system engineers what UML is to software engineers. Unlike UML, which based on standardizing the software systems description language, SysML describes much more variety of systems, that can include staff, hardware, facilities or electrical elements. SysML has 7 diagram types that are divided into behavioral and structural sub-types. The SysML solution for ConceptDraw DIAGRAM contains 13 general-purpose modeling language libraries designed to describe systems engineering applications. The SysML solution supports the specification, analysis, design, confirmation, and validation of a wide range of systems and systems-of-systems.

1. Run ConceptDraw DIAGRAM.
2. Find the SysML item in the Solutions panel.
3. Select the appropriate library based on the type of diagram you need.
4. Place objects into your drawing — click on an object and then click on the document, at the place you want the object to be inserted.

5. Use the Action button menu to change diagram elements. To open the menu select an object and click the  button in the upper right corner of the object.

6. Add text to diagram —select an object and start typing.
7. Use the text format options to improve its appearance.

8. Use the options provided in the Format panel to customize the diagram.

Result: Systems Modeling Language (SysML) diagrams are used to represent a conceptual schema, or semantic data models of engineering systems.
