5 Level pyramid model diagram - Information systems types

A five level pyramid model of different types of Information Systems based on the information processing requirement of different levels in the organization. The first level represents transaction processing systems to process basic data. The second level represents office support systems to process information in office. The third level represents management information systems to process information by managers. The fourth level represents decision support systems to process explicit knowledge. The fifth level represents executive information systems to process tacit knowledge.
"A Computer(-Based) Information System is essentially an IS using computer technology to carry out some or all of its planned tasks. The basic components of computer based information system are:
(1) Hardware - these are the devices like the monitor, processor, printer and keyboard, all of which work together to accept, process, show data and information.
(2) Software - are the programs that allow the hardware to process the data.
(3) Databases - are the gathering of associated files or tables containing related data.
(4) Networks - are a connecting system that allows diverse computers to distribute resources.
(5) Procedures - are the commands for combining the components above to process information and produce the preferred output.
The first four components (hardware, software, database and network) make up what is known as the information technology platform. Information technology workers could then use these components to create information systems that watch over safety measures, risk and the management of data. These actions are known as information technology services." [Information systems. Wikipedia]

Network Diagramming with ConceptDraw PRO

At the moment computer networks are widespread, various types of computer networks are constructed around the world, operate and interact with each other. There are many kinds of computer networks that differ in the transmission medium, in communications protocols, in size, topology, organizational intent, and also in territorial basis. There are popular such types of computer networks as Global Area Network (GAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), Local Area Network (LAN). ConceptDraw PRO is a powerful network diagramming software, perfect for software engineers, software designers and software developers who need to draw Computer Network diagrams, designs, schematics, and network maps in no time. The pre-drawn shapes representing computers, network devices and smart connectors offered by ConceptDraw solutions help to create the accurate diagrams and documentation, represent computer network topologies and designs, depict Computer network architectures, logical, physical, cable networks, and vehicular networks. How should diagramming software work? Is it possible to develop a diagram as quickly as the ideas come to you? The innovative ConceptDraw Smart Connectors Technology - This is more than enough versatility to draw any type of diagram with any degree of complexity. Connection points are necessary for diagramming network, flowchart and organizational charts. In ConceptDraw you connect shapes by attaching, or snapping and gluing, connectors to shape connection points. Read more

You can see that when you rotate a group, connectors change their angle, keeping their position inside of the grouped objects. If you decide to ungroup the objects, the connectors will adjust to keep lines parallel to the edges of the sheet. The magic of ConceptDraw Arrows10’s rotating group containing connectors, makes complex diagramming simple and easy. The way to connect objects has never been easier. Read more
