How To
Communicate Project Information An Optimal Format

Step 1. From ConceptDraw PROJECT open the sample project “Web Site Launch”.

Step 2. Click on the Gantt Chart Tab to open open a Gantt chart view of your project.

Step 3. Select project tasks you want to communicate to your client.

Step 4. Choose Create Mind Map from the context menu.

Step 5. The in project information you selected in the Gantt chart view will be converted to a mind map that can then be opened in ConceptDraw MINDMAP.

Step 6. Click on the small project icon to see detailed task information, or hover over the icon for a second for the task details to display on the screen.

Tip: It is easy to increment task progress through visual indicator by clicking on the symbol to change the percentage complete.

Step 7. The circles that are displayed in the inside side portion of the topics are visual indicators of the associated task’s progress. It is easy to increment task progress by accessing the Task Info pane and changing the percentage complete there.

Step 8. If you would like to remove these visual task indicators, it is easy to remove the symbol by right clicking on the task to remove the symbol.

Note: Even though the symbol can be removed, the data that is associated with the task remains so it becomes available for future use.

Step 9. To create a WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) from ConceptDraw PROJECT choose Create WBS from the context menu in ConceptDraw PROJECT.

Step 10. The project information will then be presented as a WBS diagram Generated inside of ConceptDraw PRO.

Result. You can display the same project information in different visual formats which makes it easier to communicate to your different project audiences. Here you see how you are able to take project data and transform that quickly into a Gantt chart, mind map or WBS diagram project perspective.
