Create a Custom Shape Library for CCTV Schematic Diagram

Step 1. Create a new custom library.
Create a custom “CCTV schematics” shape library for drawing Video Security Systems Schematic diagrams. From the File menu select Library, then New (Ctrl+Shift+N). An empty library box will appear in the Library window.

Step 2. Open the source libraries.
Open the libraries containing necessary shapes by clicking on the toolbar icon Open library (Ctrl+Shift+O) and selecting in the Open window:

  • / Libraries / Computers and Network / Basic Network
  • / Libraries / Audio & Video / Miscellaneous
  • / Libraries / Audio & Video / Video

The necessary shapes marked by red frames.

 

Tip: To add a hand drawn shape to the custom library, simply drag and drop the shape from document to the custom library window.

Step 3. Drag and drop shapes to the new library.
Add shapes into the new library by holding down the Ctrl key and drag and drop shapes from the source library onto the new library tab.

Step 4. Set the shapes properties.
Right click on the shape in the library window and select Properties. In the Library Item Properties window edit the Item Name (the pop-up hint text) and the Item Prompt (text that is displayed in the Status Bar).

Step 5. Set the library properties.
From the File menu select Library, then Properties. In the Library Properties window, change the title of the library to “CCTV schematics”, add author, company, and subject information, and provide a short description. Click OK.

Step 6. Save the library.
From the File menu select Library, then Save As. In the Save As window, specify the desired location of the library file.
