OSPF Network. Computer and Network Examples

Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) is a dynamic routing protocol based on the link-state technology and used the Dijkstra's algorithm for finding the shortest path. It was developed by IETF in 1988.

OSPF is an interior gateway protocol (IGP), it is widely used in large enterprise networks. OSPF routes the IP packets within a single routing domain. It gathers the information about the link state from the routers and makes the network topology map.

OSPF has the following advantages: the high rate of convergence in comparison with distance vector routing protocols, support of the network mask variable length (VLSM), optimal use of bandwidth.

Computer and Networks Area provides solutions that contain the libraries with a great number of predesigned vector stencils, a set of professional looking examples that you can change for your needs. All these allow you create the OSPF diagrams of any complexity in a few minutes.

TEN RELATED HOW TO's:
When describing any computer network, we imagine a set of devices and nodes, arranged in some way. Talking about network structures, we should distinguish physical and logical network topologies, as physical topology is about devices location and logical topology illustrates data flow. In the same time, they do not have to match, and some devices, such as repeaters, may have a physical star layout, but a bus logical topology. There are two main types of computer network topologies: Physical topology that show the physical organization of a network - equipment and types of connections. Star network topology involves a set of devices that is connected to a single hub (router). Ring network topology means that, devices connected according this topology have two connections, connecting with nearby devices to make a loop. Bus network topology is the topology presented at the current diagram. It is similar to a ring topology. The difference is that data moves up and down a linear connection, copying itself where network equipment works as bus-stations along the way. This network topology can be used for small network, or when adding an extra device into a network.Network Topologies

When trying to figure out the nature of the problems occurring within a project, there are many ways to develop such understanding. One of the most common ways to document processes for further improvement is to draw a process flowchart, which depicts the activities of the process arranged in sequential order — this is business process management. ConceptDraw DIAGRAM is business process mapping software with impressive range of productivity features for business process management and classic project management. This business process management software is helpful for many purposes from different payment processes, or manufacturing processes to chemical processes. Business process mapping flowcharts helps clarify the actual workflow of different people engaged in the same process. This samples were made with ConceptDraw DIAGRAM — business process mapping software for flowcharting and used as classic visio alternative because its briefly named "visio for mac" and for windows, this sort of software named the business process management tools. This flowchart diagram shows a process flow of project management. The diagram that is presented here depicts the project life cycle that is basic for the most of project management methods. Breaking a project into phases allows to track it in the proper manner. Through separation on phases, the total workflow of a project is divided into some foreseeable components, thus making it easier to follow the project status. A project life cycle commonly includes: initiation, definition, design, development and implementation phases. Distinguished method to show parallel and interdependent processes, as well as project life cycle relationships. A flowchart diagram is often used as visual guide to project. For instance, it used by marketing project management software for visualizing stages of marketing activities or as project management workflow tools. Created with ConceptDraw DIAGRAM — business process mapping software which is flowcharting visio alternative or shortly its visio for mac, this sort of software platform often named the business process management tools.Process Flowchart

The Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) is a progressive distance-vector dynamic routing protocol. It was developed by the Cisco Systems and is available as an open standard from 2013. EIGRP is used to help automate routing decisions and configuration of the computer network. It allows the routers of the same logical area automatically share route information.EIGRP. <br>Computer and Network Examples *

A Storage area network (SAN) is a dedicated network that provides access to data storage and operations only on the block level. SAN usually has own network of storage devices/elements and disk arrays that are connected with each other and to a remote data-sharing network. SANs are widely used for enhancing the storage devices (optical jukeboxes, disk arrays, tape libraries) that are accessible for networked servers. This example was created in ConceptDraw DIAGRAM using the Computer and Networks Area of ConceptDraw Solution Park.
