Network Engineering

ConceptDraw DIAGRAM is a powerful Network Engineering software thanks to the Vehicular Networking Solution and many other networking solutions from the Computer and Networks Area of ConceptDraw Solution Park.

Local area network (LAN). Computer and Network Examples

A local area network (LAN) is a devices network that connect with each other in the scope of a home, school, laboratory, or office. Usually, a LAN comprise computers and peripheral devices linked to a local domain server. All network appliances can use a shared printers or disk storage. A local area network serve for many hundreds of users. Typically, LAN includes many wires and cables that demand a previously designed network diagram. They are used by IT professionals to visually document the LANs physical structure and arrangement.
ConceptDraw - Perfect Network Diagramming Software with examples of LAN Diagrams. ConceptDraw Network Diagram is ideal for network engineers and network designers who need to draw Local Area Network diagrams.

The vector stencils library "Telecommunication networks" contains 32 clipart images of telecommunication network devices and equipment for drawing telecom network diagrams.
"A telecommunications network is a collection of terminal nodes, links and any intermediate nodes which are connected so as to enable telecommunication between the terminals.
The transmission links connect the nodes together. The nodes use circuit switching, message switching or packet switching to pass the signal through the correct links and nodes to reach the correct destination terminal.
Each terminal in the network usually has a unique address so messages or connections can be routed to the correct recipients. The collection of addresses in the network is called the address space." [Telecommunications network. Wikipedia]

Electrical Symbols — VHF UHF SHF

Ultra high frequency (UHF) is the ITU designation for radio frequencies in the range between 300 MHz and 3 GHz, also known as the decimetre band as the wavelengths range from one meter to one decimetre. Radio waves with frequencies above the UHF band fall into the SHF (super-high frequency) or microwave frequency range. Lower frequency signals fall into the VHF (very high frequency) or lower bands. UHF radio waves propagate mainly by line of sight; they are blocked by hills and large buildings although the transmission through building walls is strong enough for indoor reception. They are used for television broadcasting, cell phones, satellite communication including GPS, personal radio services including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, walkie-talkies, cordless phones, and numerous other applications.

26 libraries of the Electrical Engineering Solution of ConceptDraw DIAGRAM make your electrical diagramming simple, efficient, and effective. You can simply and quickly drop the ready-to-use objects from libraries into your document to create the electrical diagram.

Telecommunication Network Diagrams solution extends ConceptDraw DIAGRAM software with samples, templates, and great collection of vector stencils to help the specialists in a field of networks and telecommunications, as well as other users to create Computer systems networking and Telecommunication network diagrams for various fields, to organize the work of call centers, to design the GPRS networks and GPS navigational systems, mobile, satellite and hybrid communication networks, to construct the mobile TV networks and wireless broadband networks.
The vector stencils library "Computer network" contains 51 symbols of computer network devices and equipment for drawing computer network diagrams.
"Network Mapping Software.
A number of software tools exist to design computer network diagrams / or generate visual maps of networks, servers, storage, services, data centers, and other peripherals. Broadly, there are two types of software tools - those that help create diagrams manually and those that generate them using automated / semi-automated approaches.
Type of Software.
(1) Manual - allows users to design and draw logical and physical topology diagrams by manually placing icons and connections.
(2) Automated - generate topology diagrams / maps by traversing the network and automatically discovering resident devices or by importing network data." [Comparison of network diagram software. Wikipedia]
ConceptDraw PRO is the software for manual design of computer network diagrams. The solutions of the Computer and Networks area in ConceptDraw Solution Park extend ConceptDraw PRO with vector stencils libraries, templates and examples for creating the computer network diagrams.

The vector stencils library "Transistors" contains 30 symbols of transistors drawing electronic schematics and circuit diagrams.
"A transistor is a semiconductor device used to amplify and switch electronic signals and electrical power. It is composed of semiconductor material with at least three terminals for connection to an external circuit. A voltage or current applied to one pair of the transistor's terminals changes the current through another pair of terminals. Because the controlled (output) power can be higher than the controlling (input) power, a transistor can amplify a signal. Today, some transistors are packaged individually, but many more are found embedded in integrated circuits.
The transistor is the fundamental building block of modern electronic devices, and is ubiquitous in modern electronic systems. ...
Transistors are categorized by:
(1) Semiconductor material...: the metalloids germanium ... and silicon ... in amorphous, polycrystalline and monocrystalline form; the compounds gallium arsenide ... and silicon carbide ..., the alloy silicon-germanium ..., the allotrope of carbon graphene ...
(2) Structure: BJT, JFET, IGFET (MOSFET), insulated-gate bipolar transistor, "other types"
(3) Electrical polarity (positive and negative): n–p–n, p–n–p (BJTs); n-channel, p-channel (FETs)
(4) Maximum power rating: low, medium, high
(5) Maximum operating frequency: low, medium, high, radio (RF), microwave frequency...
(6) Application: switch, general purpose, audio, high voltage, super-beta, matched pair
(7) Physical packaging: through-hole metal, through-hole plastic, surface mount, ball grid array, power modules...
(8) Amplification factor..." [Transistor. Wikipedia]
