How to Change the Measurement Units and Drawing Scale

ConceptDraw PRO enables choosing the most suitable scale and units of measurement with just one click.
There are different units of measurement that can be used for length dimensions. When making scaled drawing we can't keep in mind just meters, centimeters, and millimeters ; we also need remember about yards, feets and inches . This is because the United States applies its own system of measurement units, while the rest of the world employs metric measurement units. This article explains how you can change the scale and measurement units in a ConceptDraw PRO drawing.

How to Resize Objects

When creating diagram using ConceptDraw PRO, you can select, move, resize and rotate objects. After selecting an object (or objects) in a document, you can change it position, resize it or move an object to the desired position. The sizes of objects in ConceptDraw PRO can be changed by simple dragging, or you can set a particular size of any object. Using ConceptDraw PRO, you can re-size an object on the page using the absolute measurements instead of a mouse. You can make quick work of designing complex drawing using a combination of different-sized items.

How to Create a Floor Plan

Making a floor plan is the best way to get a handle on how to organize your living space, and find out what could be changed. Creating a floor plan to scale is a challenge of the home and interior design process and can be noticeably helpful for visualizing things like furniture layout. You can use ConceptDraw?PRO to?produce layouts of?real estate properties. ConceptDraw PRO contains the large quantity of pre-designed vector objects that you can use for quick and easy designing such floor plans. You ?can easily determine the?size of?the?rooms and distances in?you drawing. The?ability to?create a floor plan is?delivered by?the?Floor Plans?solution. This solution extends ConceptDraw PRO with libraries that contains over 500 objects of floor plan elements. There is?a set of?special objects that?displays the?sizes, corners, squares and other technical details using?the?current measurements?of?units.
The vector stencils library "Tools" contains 11 clipart images of hand tools and instruments for drawing illustrations.
"A tool is any physical item that can be used to achieve a goal, especially if the item is not consumed in the process. Informally the word is also used to describe a procedure or process with a specific purpose. Tool use by humans dates back millions of years, and other animals are also known to employ simple tools.
Tools that are used in particular fields or activities may have different designations such as "instrument", "utensil", "implement", "machine", or "apparatus". The set of tools needed to achieve a goal is "equipment". The knowledge of constructing, obtaining and using tools is technology." [Tool. Wikipedia]

"In physics, length contraction is the phenomenon of a decrease in length measured by the observer of an object which is traveling at any non-zero velocity relative to the observer. This contraction (more formally called Lorentz contraction or Lorentz-FitzGerald contraction after Hendrik Lorentz and George FitzGerald) is usually only noticeable at a substantial fraction of the speed of light. Length contraction is only in the direction parallel to the direction in which the observed body is travelling. This effect is negligible at everyday speeds, and can be ignored for all regular purposes. Only at greater speeds does it become relevant." [Length contraction. Wikipedia]

Ice Hockey Rink Dimensions

Meeting ice hockey rules one should learn ice hockey rink terms, lines, zones etc. ConceptDraw PRO is an advanced drawing software that allows you produce ice hockey rink depiction of any complexity, from simple sketch drawing to detailed one as on example below.

Basketball Court Dimensions

Basketball is team play with a ball a special court. The goal is to throw a ball into one of the baskets, which are mounted to a backboard at a certain height on the edges of the court.

"The cosmic distance ladder (also known as the extragalactic distance scale) is the succession of methods by which astronomers determine the distances to celestial objects. A real direct distance measurement of an astronomical object is possible only for those objects that are "close enough" (within about a thousand parsecs) to Earth. The techniques for determining distances to more distant objects are all based on various measured correlations between methods that work at close distances with methods that work at larger distances. Several methods rely on a standard candle, which is an astronomical object that has a known luminosity.
The ladder analogy arises because no one technique can measure distances at all ranges encountered in astronomy. Instead, one method can be used to measure nearby distances, a second can be used to measure nearby to intermediate distances, and so on. Each rung of the ladder provides information that can be used to determine the distances at the next higher rung." [Cosmic distance ladder. Wikipedia]

How To Draw Building Plans

Building Plans are a set of scaled drawings, which show a view from above, the relationships between rooms, spaces and other physical features at one level of a structure. Usually plans are drawn or printed on paper, but they can take the form of a digital file.
