"Civil aviation is one of two major categories of flying, representing all non-military aviation, both private and commercial. Most of the countries in the world are members of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and work together to establish common standards and recommended practices for civil aviation through that agency. Civil aviation includes two major categories: - Scheduled air transport, including all passenger and cargo flights operating on regularly scheduled routes; and - General aviation (GA), including all other civil flights, private or commercial. ... Some countries also make a regulatory distinction based on whether aircraft are flown for hire like: - Commercial aviation includes most or all flying done for hire, particularly scheduled service on airlines; and - Private aviation includes pilots flying for their own purposes (recreation, business meetings, etc.) without receiving any kind of remuneration. All scheduled air transport is commercial, but general aviation can be either commercial or private. Normally, the pilot, aircraft, and operator must all be authorized to perform commercial operations through separate commercial licensing, registration, and operation certificates." [Civil aviation. "An aircraft is a machine that is able to fly by gaining support from the air, or, in general, the atmosphere of a planet. It counters the force of gravity by using either static lift or by using the dynamic lift of an airfoil, or in a few cases the downward thrust from jet engines.
The human activity that surrounds aircraft is called aviation. Crewed aircraft are flown by an onboard pilot, but unmanned aerial vehicles may be remotely controlled or self-controlled by onboard computers. Aircraft may be classified by different criteria, such as lift type, propulsion, usage and others." [Aircraft. Wikipedia]

This circle-spoke diagram example was crated on the base of the illustration in the article "What is an exposition?" from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) website.
"As the aviation industry transitions to new rules and safety standards through regulatory reform, organisations will be required to demonstrate to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) how they have met the requirements outlined in the legislation, including the regulations and manual of standards applicable to their operation through a document called an exposition.
An exposition is a description of how organisations will conduct their operations to maintain the required level of safety. The exposition is the primary document, supported by a series of manuals, such as the operations manual and safety management system manual. These manuals and other supporting documents form part of the exposition document set, as shown in the ... diagram." [casa.gov.au/ scripts/ nc.dll?WCMS:STANDARD::pc=PC_ 101706]

"Merox is an acronym for mercaptan oxidation. It is a proprietary catalytic chemical process developed by UOP used in oil refineries and natural gas processing plants to remove mercaptans from LPG, propane, butanes, light naphthas, kerosene and jet fuel by converting them to liquid hydrocarbon disulfides.
The Merox process requires an alkaline environment which, in some of the process versions, is provided by an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH), a strong base, commonly referred to as caustic. In other versions of the process, the alkalinity is provided by ammonia, which is a weak base.
The catalyst in some versions of the process is a water-soluble liquid. In other versions, the catalyst is impregnated onto charcoal granules.
Processes within oil refineries or natural gas processing plants that remove mercaptans and/ or hydrogen sulfide (H2S) are commonly referred to as sweetening processes because they results in products which no longer have the sour, foul odors of mercaptans and hydrogen sulfide. The liquid hydrocarbon disulfides may remain in the sweetened products, they may be used as part of the refinery or natural gas processing plant fuel, or they may be processed further.
The Merox process is usually more economical than using a catalytic hydrodesulfurization process for much the same purpose." [en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/ Merox]
