Changes from version 1.5.5 to version 1.5.8

GENERAL:

  • The Options item (Tools->Options) is now named Preferences, and is in the Edit menu.
  • What's New added to the Help menu. It shows a list of changes from the previous version (new features, bug fixes, etc.)
  • Text control toolbar is now visible in the drawing mode as well (it only appeared in the text editing mode before). It displays text properties for the first paragraph of the primary object (with green handles). If there're no objects selected, the toolbar displays the default text settings.

    New features and enhancements:
  • Smart Selection - the program remembers which objects were selected the last time (if more than one) and lets you restore the entire selection by clicking on any of these objects. This mode can be toggled on/off by checking Smart Selection on Miscellaneous tab of the Preferences dialog. The default setting is off.
  • Enhanced selection of object handles - now it's possible to select multiple handles of any kind (not only vertices). This adds additional capabilities, like resizing a number of objects at a time, moving several handles simultaneously, and more. You can manipulate selected handles with the mouse or keyboard, and quickly delete them using Del/Backspace.
  • Settings in export dialogs are remembered throughout a work session.
  • In the Export to HTML dialog, the system color dialog is used for background color selection.
  • Ctrl+Shift+V(Cmd+Shift+V) - inserts object(s) from the Clipboard into the same relative position on a page.
  • Now, if you draw a segment with Ctrl(Cmd) held down, this segment is added as a new geometry to the primary selected object (if there are any selected).
  • New tool: Fit To Text - automatically fits an object to the size of the text it holds.
    Bug fixes:
  • Now, Undo/Redo actions display correctly in the menu after Combine/Join/Scatter operations.

MACINTOSH PLATFORM:

    New features:
  • The following shortcuts can be used for changing text style: Cmd+B - Bold, Cmd+I - Italic, Cmd+U - Underline.
  • Snapping now works for objects dragged from the libraries.
    Bug fixes:
  • Fixed problems with Copy/Paste into MS Word.
  • Fixed incorect printing of rotated text on some printers.
