Gantt chart
Gantt chart window is of two parts: the task list and graphic presentation
of the tasks. On activation of this window all menus and toolbars become accessible,
but the commands and buttons that are not used for editing of the chart are
not active.
Gantt chart window is of two parts: the task list and graphic presentation
of the tasks.
The part of the window with the task list consists of the following columns:
- # - task number
- Name - task name
- Start - task start date
- Finish - task end date
- Duration - task duration
- Complete - percent completed
- Deadline - task completion deadline
- Cost - assumed task cost (assigned by the user)
- Basecost - task basecost (calculated by the program on
the cost of the resources involved and is shown in this field)
All parameters can be also specified in the dialog Task
Information on the tab General, some in the context menu
and in the diagram graphic part.
Columns, except for the first two, can be hidden and relocated. This can be
done in the dialog Column Customization,
which can be started from the menu View
/ Column Customization or by double-click from the task list heading.
The width of a column can also be changed. For this set the cursor to the right
edge of the column (the cursor should turn a double-sided arrow) and drag it
to the needed direction.
The graphic part of the diagram displays task as bars. Bars are arranged in
accordance with the timescale, displaying the task start /end time and its duration.
The timescale can be changed. This can be done in the dialog Timescale,
which is started from the menu View /
Timescale or by double-click from the toolbar of the graphic part of
the diagram.
In the graphic part you can change the task start/end date, its duration and
percentage of completion. To change start/end dates move the bar by your mouse.
To change the task duration draw by the right edge of the bar, to change the
percentage of completion draw by the left edge. In both cases the cursor should
turn a double-sided arrow. The non-completed part of the task is shown in blue,
the completed one - in green.
Next to tasks names of the resources involved in these tasks are shown.
Links between dependent tasks are shown with arrows.The most common link type,
finish to start, is assigned by the following way:
first select the tasks to which you want to assign links, and then use one one
of the following:
Any link type can be assigned in the dialog Task
Information, on the tab Predecessors (the dialog is started
from the menu Tasks / Predecessors).
The widths of the text and graphic parts of the diagram can be changed. For
this set the cursor on the dividing line and draw to the needed direction.
You can switch to the Gantt chart window by one of the following:
- On starting the program choose any of the options.
- By switching to the Gantt chart window in the menu View / Gantt
Chart or on the toolbar View with
the help of the icon

From the resource and workspace windows you can switch to Gantt chart only
if the needed project has been selected.
- By creating a new document, by opening an existing one or by importing from
another format to the menu File or on the
toolbar Main.
