Odessa, Ukraine, September 13, 2006 – CS Odessa announces the launch of ConceptDraw Visio File Converter web service. This service is designed to simplify document exchange between Visio and other diagramming software packages.

This new web-based service converts files from Visio binary file format VSD into Visio XML files which then have a VDX extension. Drawings users want to convert can be sent as an email attachment to a designated service address at CS Odessa that is easy to obtain by completing a web form requesting this file conversion service.

The converted file result is delivered back to the requestor as an email attachment in either ZIP or SIT format, the conversion process takes less then 15 minutes. Since Visio documents often are of a large size it is possible to send them for conversion in a ZIP or SIT archive format. The service allows users to send several documents in one attachment.

“Visio users have the ability to save their drawings into VDX format, but often don’t do this. They typically send files as VSD documents, often making it difficult to read them by other diagramming software packages. This can be problematic for Macintosh users because Visio is not available on the Mac,” said Oleg Bocharnikov, Head of Product Management Department for CS Odessa. “Many people face this problem, and as a diagramming software publisher we decided to offer this service to alleviate this headache.”
