ConceptDraw V Professional 5.5.0.1 is designed for people who need to create high-end flowcharts, engineering drawings, and other intricate illustrations....
... ConceptDraw Pro V Professional 5.5.0.1 is a capable diagramming program that's brimming with potential. And if you take the time to learn the application's scripting language, you can do things that you can't duplicate with other diagramming software.

This program really blew me away. It was amazing how simple it was to use and how quickly you could do almost anything...I did not find any problems with this program in its functionality or usability. It is very user friendly and I would recommend it to anyone that is heavy into making floor plans or business diagrams.

I'm really quite fond of the docked editing tools on the right-hand side of the screen, which give easy access to all of the properties of the current shape; they seem to me to be easier to work with than Visio's mix of toolbar buttons, menu items, and dialog boxes. ConceptDraw also offers a good selection of basic drawing shapes on its various templates, as well as enough clip art to get you started. The Professional version that I worked with covers web and Windows design, floor plans, organization charts, various types of software diagrams, forms, mechanical engineering, and other odds and ends.

ConceptDraw V is aimed not at designers or artists, but at those who need to create explanatory graphics as part of their work. It requires no drawing or design skills, but supplies a large library of pre-drawn shapes, connectors and other devices. You drag, drop, move, resize and connect these shapes to produce your diagrams. It’s a lot quicker than doing it from scratch.

The tools provided cover such diverse fields as flowcharting, planning, concept mapping and UML (although it is hard not to be sceptical at the boasts of presentation creation via the import/export of PowerPoint documents). To this end, ConceptDraw Professional comes with around 2,800 objects, thankfully vector files, to drag and drop into your own documents. These are split into such categories as Engineering, Chemical and Software Diagram, and example sub-categories from the latter include COM and OLE, Nassi Schneiderman and Win95 User Interface.
